Nonprofit Business Entity Report Change

Posted on Wednesday, May 04, 2016

Every business entity in Indiana has a responsibility to file regular business entity reports with the Indiana Secretary of State.  These reports must be filed every year by nonprofit organizations and every two years by for-profit businesses.

The form is due during the anniversary month of your organization’s formation or the anniversary month in which you were granted authority to do business in Indiana.  As a courtesy, the Indiana Secretary of State sends a reminder notice the month your report is due.

Effective July 1, 2016, nonprofit organizations will change from an annual payment cycle to a biennial (every two years) payment cycle.  The filing fee will increase July 1, 2016 from $5 to $10 for online filing and from $10 to $20 for paper filing.
