Do your leaders have MOXIE?
Author and speaker, John Baldoni, spoke at this year’s Foellinger Foundation Ernest E. Williams Lecture on April 26th about MOXIE – Motivation, Opportunity, an “X” factor, Innovation and Engagement. Together these provide a framework for leaders to be successful and overcome challenges. Mr. Baldoni explained that “Moxie, in its simplest definition, is guts, gumption, and determination to succeed against the odds and it’s focused on your goals.”
The nonprofit sector continues to face challenges that its leaders are forced to address.
- Budget constraints
- Decreased funding and more competition for shrinking resources
- Increased demand for services
- Measuring and articulating outcomes
- Adjusting to changing client needs, economic trends and funder interests
- Succession planning
- Attracting volunteers
- Increased reporting and transparency
To support nonprofit leadership development in our community, Foellinger Foundation provides funding through the Helene Foellinger Leadership Development Initiative. If you’re interested in giving your organization’s leaders some additional MOXIE, contact Foellinger.
