Form 1023-EZ Fee Change
Posted on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 Share
Most organizations with gross receipts of $50,000 or less and assets of $250,000 or less are eligible to apply for tax-exempt status by filing Form 1023-EZ, Streamlined Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The EZ form is significantly shorter than Form 1023, Application for Recognition of Exemption Under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and must be filed electronically on Pay.gov. The filing fee for Form 1023-EZ is currently, and has been since it was introduced in the summer of 2014, $400; however, effective July 1, 2016, the filing fee has been reduced to $275.
