Posted on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 Share
On August 7th DWD employees participated with approximately 1,200 volunteers in the 22nd annual United Way Day of Caring. This year's project was to help spruce up the Girl Scouts Camp Agnes S. McMillen. Camp Agnes S. McMillen consists of 103 acres in northern Allen County with cabins, hiking trails, a climbing tower, zipline and low ropes course. The Camp serves as a day camp throughout the summer.
The United Way Day of Caring is a great opportunity for organizations to give back to the community. This year 65 local organizations were able to assist with approximately 70 projects. If your organization is interested in participating in the Day of Caring or if you know of individuals/organizations that need some assistance with a project, visit the United Way of Allen County's website to find out more information.
