Tax Season Internship

The primary responsibility of a tax season intern is to assist with federal and state income tax preparation. Tax return preparation will be primarily focused on individual tax returns (1040s); however, there may be an opportunity to also prepare business returns and property tax returns.

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Tax return preparation
  • Assistance with reconciling accounts
  • Learning how to use our tax preparation software, UltraTax
  •  Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
  • Working as part of the tax group
  • Taking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations

The time commitment for the tax season internship may be either part-time (usually 20-24 hours per week) or full-time (40 hours per week). DWD recognizes the importance of the student’s education and is willing to work with the student on their schedule. For scheduling purposes, we ask that the hours and days worked are generally consistent week to week.
