DWD Participates In Community Services Project

DWD has participated in the United Way Day of Caring since its inception.  Due to the pandemic, this year our team decided to select a local nonprofit and find a different, unique way to help.

Our team selected Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Indiana, Inc.  For those of you unfamiliar with the organization, Ronald McDonald House offers comfort, convenience and compassion for parents who have a hospitalized child.

Internally, we coordinated a food drive for the organization.  We collected popular snack and meal items which will be made available to the families staying at the House.  We also took up a monetary collection which we presented to the organization to help as well.

Did you know?                (A few interesting facts from their website)

  • The Ronald McDonald House at Parkview gives families time with their hospitalized child
  • Staying in the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview gives families more communication with their child’s medical team and improves their ability to follow complicated medical plans.
  • Families find a strong feeling of support when they stay in the Ronald McDonald House at Parkview that allows them to better care for themselves and their child.
