DWD Sponsors Girl Scout Cookie Program

DWD is proud to be a Corporate Girl Scout Cookie Sponsor

The Girl Scout Cookie Program is a critical source of funding for the Girl Scouts.  Due to COVID-19, all in-person activities of the troops were suspended, even the cookie sales!  To help support the Girl Scouts with unsold cookies, the Corporate Cookie Sponsorship campaign allows corporations to purchase cookies and donate them to a chosen charity.  For every box purchased by a corporate sponsor, Girl Scouts of Northern Indiana Michiana will donate a box to the chosen charity.    Not only are we supporting the Girl Scouts, we are also supporting a number of our nonprofit clients and those in the community who rely on their services.

It was a great outreach opportunity for several members of our DWD team while we loaded our vehicles, planned our route and made the deliveries.  A box of cookies can certainly brighten someones day, especially for the children attending Euell A. Wilson Center who were finishing their lunch and eager for a treat!

These are the organizations we visited:

Early Childhood Alliance.

Early Childhood Alliance is a nonprofit organization serving the early education needs of children across northern Indiana.  Their services include on-site early care and education in two accredited learning centers; sponsorship of the Child and Adult Care Food Program, a program of the Department of Education; a wide range of Family Support program; and early education advocacy through work with businesses and other service agencies in communities of northern Indiana.

Euell A. Wilson Center.  The Euell A. Wilson Center is a Christian organization designed to enrich the hearts and lives of children and strengthen the family through the love of Christ.  This is done through educational, social, performing arts and spiritual development to empower youth and their families  for success immediately.

Just Neighbors Interfaith Homeless Network.  Just Neighbors’ mission is to serve homeless families by uniting religious congregations, community volunteers and local agencies in a cooperative effort to provide shelter, meals and compassionate, professional support.  Their vision is that families who are homeless in our community will have access to the services and support they need to become self-sufficient.

Wellspring Interfaith Social Services. For the past 50 years, Wellspring has placed value on respecting the dignity of every unique and valuable individual it serves.  From their food bank and clothing bank clients to the older adults and youth they serve, an importance is placed on the mental, physical, social and spiritual health of those individuals.  Wellspring’s services are responsive to the needs of our diverse community; multi and intergenerational; and provide consistent and nutritious food, clothing, education, recreation, mentoring and relationship-building.

YWCA Northeast Indiana.  The YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering all women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.    For over 125 years, the YWCA has provided services to women and families in need due to domestic violence or addictions.  The Organization focuses on moving individuals and families from crisis to self-sufficiency.
