Nonprofit Donations via Retailer Programs

Many retailers have reward programs where customers can set up accounts to benefit nonprofit organizations.  Below are just a few programs that give to nonprofits.  Although you may think that your individual purchases are not significant, they can add up, and the more people that participate, the more nonprofits receive.

During this holiday shopping season, you may want to consider signing up for one of these programs, both as a customer and as a nonprofit to receive funding.  If your nonprofit is already participating in these types of programs, make sure that you are sharing this opportunity with potential donors on your website and social media platforms.

Amazon Smile

Shop smile.amazon.com and Amazon will donate .5% of eligible purchases to your favorite charitable organization, no fees, no extra cost.  Start by picking your charity.  Search from over a million local and national charities by name, location, keyword or by cause.

In addition, thousands of charities created AmazonSmile Charity Lists of items they need right now.  Simply browse, order, and enjoy giving.

Kroger Community Rewards

Kroger Community Rewards program donates to local organizations based on the shopping you do every day.   You simply set up an account and select the nonprofit organization you wish to support.  Any transaction moving forward using your account number will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you.  Kroger donates annually to participating organizations based on your percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending associated with all participating Community Rewards organizations.

Target Circle

Target Circle members have the opportunity to earn and cast votes to help direct where Target makes its donation to nonprofits.  Nonprofit organizations are selected by Target for the community giving program.  In each community giving program, Target will make a donation to be allocated among nonprofits.  The allocation of the donation among the nonprofits for each community giving program will be based on the percentage of votes each nonprofit receives during the applicable voting periods for that community giving program.  As a member of the Target Circle, every time you make an eligible purchase, you earn one vote.

*There are certain limitations and restrictions related to each of the retailer reward programs.  Please visit their websites at the links above to find out more.
